October Wrap Up

Hello, friends, and happy Halloween! 😀 Are you doing something tonight? Do you celebrate Halloween? Maybe do a Disney Halloween movie marathon? Well, hopefully, that’s what I’ll be doing tonight 😛

But for now, I’m bringing you my October Wrap Up post! Let’s see how I did this month! (spoiler alert: very badly)

I’ve recently found out how hard college can get, and it’s tricky to try to combine sleep, school and social life – I’m mostly sacrificing my sleep, but I’ve been a lot less around here too, which saddens me. This month has been very boring, as I’ve been following a schedule: uni, homework, driving theory lessons, more homework, a lot of school reading, and then sleep. I also attended a birthday dinner, but besides that, the only times I went out was because of praxe (which is a lot like orientation week, but it actually lasts the entire year and we do a lot of activities).

The French Lieutenant’s Woman, A Room of One’s Own and Small Island were the three books I got during October, and guess what – all of them for my classes! xD

titles lead to reviews

It has been a while since I’ve read less than three books per month 😦

Chimera by C.D. Bell – 4  💫

A bit different from the first book, but as equally entertaining. I actually thought that the plot of this one was more interesting to read about! I would only ask for a bit more of insight, since there’s a huge gap between the first book and its sequel and some things weren’t as properly covered.

The French Lieutenant’s Woman by John Fowles – 3,5 💫

I had to read this one for my Contemporary English Culture class, and it actually surprised me. My only problem with it was the writing style, that bored me a bit, and made finishing this book a complicated task at times. That aside, I really enjoyed it. I was very invested in the story and I wanted to know more about the characters. Sarah was a real mystery!

I might write a review after I finish studying it at uni.

Lately, I’ve only been trying to keep up with the tv shows I currently watch. Outlander came back, and I loved the new episodes, they’re incredibly amazing, and filled me with immense joy ❤ The Shannara Chronicles also came back, which made me super happy, but I’m one or two episodes behind already. And I will always love Once Upon a Time

I’m also a couple of seasons behind on The Big Bang Theory, but since the episodes aren’t long at all, I try to watch them while getting ready or when I’m eating 😛

I’m still reading Cress, but the good news is, I’m finally about to start to make some progress! 😀

I’ll try to make an extra effort to make November worth it in terms of reading, but I can’t expect much, and so my TBR is as small as I can get it to be. I’d like to finish Cress, of course, and also maybe read Artemis, since we’re getting closer to the release date and I wouldn’t want to miss it, even though that’s what is more likely to happen. Finally, A Room of One’s Own for my Contemporary English Culture class.

What have you read in October? Any expectations for November? 🙂

Thanks Mandy, I did! I hope you had a great Halloween as well ^^
I wish I could make a living out of Outlander and Disney haha Unfortunately, responsibilities are waiting for me xD
And, so far, I’m loving them together! She’s so sweet and he’s so sassy and they’re cuties ❤

Ah, that college life sounds so familiar haha. It kind of remains like that for some time and then you find your groove and learn how to balance it all or at least accept those sacrifices you make (mainly sleep haha). Things get better after the first semester/trimester, because now you know what to expect! Good luck with the college life. I’m sure you’re doing just fine 😉

Also, I finally managed to catch up on all of season 2 in Outlander and now I just have to move on to season 3! I didn’t know Shannara Chronicles was back! I never finished the first season though. I’m a huge fan of the book they’re basing the series on, and seeing it interpreted so differently from the original material kind of disappoints me. I’ll be willing to give it a second chance though if the second season is interesting enough! I’m sooooooo behind on Once Upon A Time. SOOOOO BEHIND LOL

Hope you enjoy all those books on your TBR 😀

I really hope I can find some kind of balance soon! I’m completely lost in some of the subjects that I’m taking, but other than that, I think I’m not doing too bad xD
Outlander keeps getting better and better, so I’m excited to see what you think of it, once you catch up! And even though I was excited for the new episodes of The Shannara Chronicles, I’ve only just watched one of the episodes of the new season – of course I blame it on college work. I haven’t read the books, but I’m sorry to hear the tv show is a bad adaptation 😦 That’s always disappointing! OUAT is okay. The new season isn’t as good as previous ones, but I love some of the characters ❤
And thanks! Out of my TBR, I just haven't read Cress already – which will probably take me a while, since it's a buddy read 😦 I really liked Artemis, like you've seen in my review 😛 And I loved A Room of One's Own ❤ For the rest of the month, I'm hoping on reading a high fantasy book by a Portuguese author and lots and lots of textbooks for my Contemporary English Culture class 😦

Didn’t think Outlander could get even better! It’s honestly one of the best shows on TV right now. And maybe I can try to just see Shannara Chronicles not as an adaptation but simply as a new fantasy show on MTV 😂 And that’s interesting! A lot of the original cast left OUAT right? That makes me sad, but also curious. Wonder what new story they have in store for us?
Ah okay! BTW how do you handle your buddy reads? I’m doing one with another blogger but we’ve both never done it before so we’re kinda just winging it haha
Well, sounds like you got a busy month of reading! Hope that fantasy book is compelling and that your textbooks actually turn out to be really interesting! 😀

It’s sad that most people from the cast of OUAT have left, but they got a way of explaining that, so it’s alright. And it’s awesome to see new faces!
When it comes to buddy reads, we usually set a certain number of pages, and discuss what we’ve read and theories when we both get to our goal. We’re mostly winging it too haha

As long as it’s explained, I think I could handle it 😀
Oh! Well that’s a good idea. Daan and I might have to try that next time. I read so fast that I finished within two days and she within seven. Not ideal for a buddy post 😂
